Meet the Lincoln-Carroll Lyceum
The Lincoln–Carroll Lyceum is a youth-driven, Eastern Shore–based think tank and research society which studies philosophy, ethics, politics, history, and the classics through a distinctly rural lens. Headquartered in Kent County, Maryland, the LCL pairs student publications with public-facing programming. The name signals its aims: Lincoln, an ode to Abraham Lincoln, the paragon of for civic seriousness and constitutional reasoning; and, “Carroll” as a nod to Maryland’s own John Carroll—the Archbishop of Baltimore—linking national ideas to local heritage.
